The Wisdom of Amaryss

One afternoon I decided to lie down and enjoy one of my favourite guided meditations. I had discovered a wonderful site on the internet that provided wonderful and soothing meditations led by a woman that had a hypnotic Australian accent.

I had enjoyed this particular meditation on many occasions as it was so relaxing and rewarding. This woman with the velvet voice leads you into an imaginary secret garden where you can ultimately find secluded bliss within the privacy of your mind.

The first time I had attempted this meditation, I actually found it quite difficult to visualize the garden and all it’s glory. It seemed blurry and quite basic compared to what she was describing. I found that the garden in my mind was small and quite unimpressive in the beginning. After a few sessions though, I was amazed at the progress my mind had made with the ability to focus and go deeper into the meditation. The garden transformed into a blissful and heavenly private destination for my own secluded pleasure.

This particular afternoon, I managed to find some quiet time away from my busy family to visit my secret meditative garden. I propped myself on the bed, finding just the right position to succumb to the wonderful relaxation therapy. I plugged my earphones into my computer and logged onto the online site where’d I’d found my secret garden paradise.

After the initial countdown and quieting of the conscious mind, I entered my secret Eden, contented to once again reflect on my own spiritual path. I imagined lying in a white woven hammock listening to the trickling of the waterfalls and birds chirping. The woman’s voice guided me through the aspects of the garden, the pond, the flowers and the fact that I was completely alone in the garden, no one else knew of this secret corner of my mind.

Basking in my relaxation, I marvelled at the beauty that one can create in their mind’s eye. Looking around the garden, a figure from across the garden suddenly caught my eye. More than a little shocked, I looked again. Now moving gracefully and tranquilly towards me, a magnificent woman with long flowing blonde hair and robes of translucent, silky aura now hovered before me.

The moment became very real suddenly, it felt as though the meditation had turned into a reality.

I gawked at her and then finally asked her who she was.

“I am Amaryss, I am your celestial spirit guide.” her voice was commanding, yet soft and gentle.

I had always been aware of a kind presence that gently guided me on my spiritual journey, but I never thought that I would actually see them or meet them. I had to ask her how to pronounce her name a couple of times, it sounded like amorous to me, which didn’t seem like a very appropriate name for a guide. I’d never heard of her name before that time, but have since researched it and found that her name is also the name of a star in the night sky.

Somewhat awestruck, I remained quiet, taking in the immensity of the moment.

She explained that I was going to be entering a time of great spiritual complexity and would need to focus more on that path. She lovingly explained her duties as a guide and would forever be there just for me.

With that, she began to fade out of my sight, whispering just one word, “Trust…”

Perplexed, I opened my eyes slowly, leaving my meditative state, pondering if I had fallen asleep and had a beautiful dream. For the rest of the day, I reflected peacefully on my strange, yet rewarding vision.

Of course I have considered whether or not it was a dream or if I were crazy, but no, since that day, my writing has transformed into the beautiful prose of the higher awareness. She has become such an immense part of my life, as a loving guide and caring friend. I hear her through my mind’s eye so clearly, nudging me gently back on course when I veer off.

One day in particular I was very frustrated with yet another failed attempt at dieting.

As I fumed and pouted, I asked aloud, “Why…why won’t my body cooperate with me? Why can‘t I lose weight?”

Not really expecting an answer, Amaryss asked me a question in return. “Why not try gaining instead?’

Thoroughly annoyed by this remark, I said, “How the heck would that help?”

Patiently, she explained, “It’s the word ‘lose’ that your subconscious doesn’t like, no one wants to be a ‘loser’. Try ‘gaining’, gaining strength, gaining endurance and gaining flexibility, the resulting side effects will be what you desire.”

Humbled, I thanked her and proceeded to alter my mindset to attempt a more positive approach to my problem.

When my writing takes on the glorious and divine quality that describes the bliss of the afterlife, the evolution of human consciousness and the higher dimensions, it is her words that I am dictating. I am so thankful that I have such an amazing and talented guide. She’s truly a miracle.

  3. A beautiful article Danielle! I enjoyed that very much. It’s also very interesting what your guide said about losing vs. gaining. . . I’ve had the same message from different sources. Like attracts like, if you say “lose” that’s what your mind, subconscious, spirit, hears but in a perverse kind of way. Not losing weight, but more like, you’re a loser, lol. Anyway, very lovely and thank you for sharing it. I’m going off now to check out that link.

  4. The echo of your spirit guide draws your attention to a view of the law of attraction. If a person feels any sense of lack, that is what they invite into their lives. However, each human being always has the power to turn a vision around. As you teach yourself to build strength, resilience and use positive uplifting words and verbs, this will continue to transform your life for the better. It is a mindset you are shaping for your own good.
