Spirit Board Interview
I was given the pleasure of being asked to do Q & A interview by David at the Spirit Board. David has developed a whole new approach to the original Ouija Board, check it out!
1. What do you recommend to people who are just starting to try to communicate with spirits? I would encourage them to set aside any preconceived notions that they may have about the ‘other side’. Try to remember that these are merely human or energy beings that simply don’t have a tangible body in which to communicate with. Be patient and compassionate concerning their situation and they will be much more inclined to ’speak’ with you.
2. Do you think that anyone can communicate with spirits, or only people with special natural gifts? I believe that everyone is capable of developing these abilities, especially if they can approach the situation with an open and unbiased mindset. It is much easier, of course, having the natural tendency towards psychic empathy, but with patience and understanding, I feel that everyone can develop their latent sixth sense.
3. Have you tried different methods of communicating with spirits? If so, what methods have you found most or least successful? I haven’t felt the need to experiment with alternate communication forms at a psychic level, but I’ve tried different forms of technology such as EVP recordings and EMF detectors, to obtain proof and attempt communication at a more scientific standpoint.
4. Is there anything in particular you have done to develop your psychic abilities? Meditation has been a key factor for me when attempting to further enhance my ability. It always has been a very natural sense for me, but I’ve always taken steps to maintain, preserve and enhance the strength of it. One thing that I’ve found works very well is a visual imagery meditation. Imagine that you are face to face with a friendly entity, one that does not have any of our five senses. No eyesight, no hearing, no sense of smell, touch or taste. They have no mouth in which to speak with, but the entity is capable of receiving information based on it’s sixth sense. How would you communicate with them? The sixth sense is an empathetic sense, an emotional sense. If you had to communicate to the being a simple idea like ‘love’, how would you do it? Myself, I imagine holding my children or the sensation of loving someone and ‘impress’ the sensation onto the entity. This exercise has been the most effective for me in bringing my abilities to higher levels.
5. Do you take any precautions before attempting to communicate with spirits?
Mostly I just try to assess the situation before entering into it. If the atmosphere in the haunted location feels hostile or unstable, I attempt to subdue the entity first. By asking it’s permission to enter the home or location of their preference, it gives them back their sense of dignity and they lower their aggressive stance. Non-human entities must be taken a bit more seriously and tend to be a lot more manipulative, they just need to be handled more like a rebellious toddler and shown that their behavior will not be tolerated. I do attempt to raise my own vibrations before I enter into communications with spirits, through meditation and calming, I put aside my own ‘human’ issues so that I can better focus on the spirit.
6. Have you ever felt an evil spirit trying to invade you? If so, what do you do? I’ve only had the sensation of a spirit try to occupy my ’space’ once, I politely declined and asked my guides to assist me. He wasn’t an evil spirit at all, evil is only a judgement made based on their spirit’s behavior. Seeing past the behavior and superstitions helps one to understand better the nature of the soul behind the haunting.
7. Do you believe children should be allowed to conjure spirits or hold “play séances”? I believe with knowledge and compassion, children will learn the most effective ways to experience the paranormal. With my own children, I am simply very honest with them about ghosts. They know that there is nothing to fear, they cannot hurt us and most of the time have no desire to. From my experience, spirits aren’t interested in being conjured or manipulated, they simply want to pass on a message or want to be left alone.
8. Have you been able to communicate with particular ghosts or spirits of your choosing? I politely ask if they would like to come forward, it’s their choice if they want to, but mostly deceased family members will come visit if I call for them. Otherwise, when I’m doing a reading for someone, their loved ones are usually their before I even need to call for them. The spirit usually senses the raised vibrations and understands that this is a great time to communicate if they want to.
9. Are you tempted to try to use your psychic abilities for personal gain? If you mean the lottery or something like that, well, my mom tried for a while to have me fill out lottery ticket numbers and whatnot, but, because the ‘other side’ has absolutely no use for monetary gain, they don’t cooperate with anything like that. My psychic ability is empathic, so I don’t receive much for precognition unless it’s pertaining to the person I’m reading at the time or an emergency that ‘they’ need to show me something that will happen.
10. Are you afraid? Hmmm..well, I’m not afraid of death, that’s for sure, I feel pretty confident there’s a great place to go afterwards. I’d have to say I’m far more afraid of what living human beings do to one another than what I’ve ever come across in the spirit world. Spirits always leave me feeling more alive, more aware of my spirituality and more compassionate to their situation. Living humans often leave me feeling sad, paranoid and afraid. Everyone’s afraid of something, but I defintely am not afraid of the unknown, I’m always just curious and sympathetic towards them. 
One key point that stands out here is that it is not necessary to force communication with spirit. As you say, it is more a case of learning to detach from human conditioning, misplaced beliefs and dense thought energy. Raising awareness is an ongoing process. Conscious openness enables an energy being in the physical plane to vibrate higher and connect with spirit energy in a different space. The truth is somethign one learns to feel. Great inerview!
