Settling herself in for the night, Evony turned on her side and closed her eyes. 

Only a moment later, she felt the bed shudder a little.  Opening her eyes, she glanced around the room.  Shadows seem to lurk in the corners as her eyes strained to absorb enough light to see.  Rolling her eyes at her paranoia, she again closed her eyes and settled under the covers.

Just as she was falling asleep, she again felt the bed shake a little.  Confused, she sat up and searched the room for answers.  There just wasn’t anything there that she could see.  Usually, if there was a ghost coming for a visit, they would contact her thoughts first or present themselves visually somehow, so not to scare her.

It just had to be this new house guest and Evony was certainly not appreciative of it’s tactics.  Before she could send out a message to the being, her bed shook somewhat violently.  

Leaning over, Evony could see something forming on the  metal frame. She saw what looked like two shadowy hands grasping the edge.  Her heart starting pounding as she watched the entity slowly pull itself from under the bed.  Writhing and twisting as it forced it’s body out from the small gap between the mattress and the floor. 

Her bed was only raised up a couple of inches from the floor, so no human could fit under there.

Terrified, Evony pushed herself back against the headboard as this dark mist began to take shape in front of her.  Finally as it slowly took the physique of a human’s silhouette, it just stood and glared at her.  She could feel the negative energy dripping off of the creature as it began moving closer to her.

Writhing blackness shifted slowly within it, moving as though it were suspended in water.  Evony pushed herself into the corner between the bed and the wall, watching in horror as the entity loomed in closer.  Trembling, the energy paused only inches from her face, as though inspecting her. 

Though the wafting vapour had no real features, Evony started to see a hardening within the facial structure.  Her eyes were drawn in as the creature’s face started to take shape. 

Eye sockets formed in the blackness, cheekbones and then a snarling smile.  Long hair flooded out the back of it’s head as it floated menacingly above Evony.

Entranced for the moment, Evony saw a distinct face emerge from the onyx haze. For just a split second, she was looking at herself.  Her facial features, though etched in the black velvet cloud, were perfectly mimicked.

With this realization, the entity then quickly began changing again.  Before Evony’s eyes, the image of her face was shredded and torn apart to reveal a hideous black skull. 

Sliding down into the bed, Evony felt her consciousness slipping away from her.  Fainting, the room spun furiously as she fought against the impending blackness. 

The moment before she faded into the stillness, she could have swore she heard it’s evil laugh penetrate her thoughts.

Hello all, been busy lately.  Bought a new house and have been busy unpacking and organizing our life again. 

Also, instead of writing paranormal articles, I decided to switch gears for a little while and write a paranormal/spiritual novel.  I can’t tell you how much fun I’m having!  It’s so rewarding to drift off into another dimension and make the world up as I please. 

For your reading pleasure, here is a teaser sample of what I’ve been up to.  I don’t have a name for this section just yet.  Enjoy! 

Evony

Standing on edge of the precipice, searing tendrils of fire licked at her toes. A sea of flames flickered and danced before her, as though seducing her. Torturous screams echoed throughout the blazing cavern as thousands of lost souls swam in the eternal pit of the damned.

As her crimson blood seeped out from long vertical wounds running from the inside of her forearms to her wrists, all Evony could think about was the sound of the crackling inferno surrounding her.

Having been born deaf, the only sounds she had heard in all of her seventeen years of life were the voices of the dead.  Never before had her fragile eardrums known the sweet sound of music or her mother’s loving voice. Only the ghosts and the dark shadows who tormented her days and nights, penetrated the auditory void. It was a twisted irony that the first real sounds she should hear, other than the ghosts, be that of Dante’s inferno.

Glancing down at her thick, dark lifeblood pooling at her feet, Evony thought back to how she got to this point. 

 Staring into the threshold of Satan’s lair, she prepared herself to jump into the abyss of Hell.

1.      Please give us a synopsis of your new book.

Thanks Danielle, for choosing to interview me here. I love your blog material and how it invites readers to open their minds to expanding possibilities. 

Self-Disclosure: Changes from Within invites readers to gain insight into themselves.  It is like a choose-your-own-adventure on different levels of awareness and perceived life stages.  An analogy may be made with a Disney movie.  Adults and children experience different things each time they watch it. Similarly, the book can be read more than once and in more than one way.  Each experience offers insight into your own thought process, current situation, preoccupation and perceived obstacles. In this way, the book is an empowering, problem-solving tool.  At the end of each section, questions are offered to prompt reflection.  End of book questionnaires also exist that are suitable for journal work.

 On one level, a protagonist and a conscience explore morals, ethics and perceived behaviour.  As book dialogue unfolds, readers are invited to expand self-awareness, to learn to find blessings in every situation. The nature of your own experience and imagination determine possible origins for the voices in the book.  If you are open to other worlds, then angels, spirit guides, other beings or divine channelling are options. The universal lessons explored delve into reasons why each person generates emotions, and how people judge, reject and learn to heal.

 This is not simply a selection of experiences of one person, it is everyone’s story.  You can grow to relate to lessons as a romantic, a self-help seeker, business person or from other vantage points.  The book reminds you every person is healing parts of the inner self.  This involves a process of getting-in-touch with core feelings.  You learn to recognize why you think and feel as you do at a given moment and why.  You shift awareness to explore unconditional love and acceptance in all areas of existence, and view everything and everyone you encounter as a mirror of your current state of mind. Deep down, all human beings know what they need.

2.      What events or inspirations do you feel have brought you to write this book?

Expanding consciousness is a universal journey.  One way conscious shifts grow noticeable is through dreams.  This is partly how I come to realize images and sensations convey messages from different sources simultaneously. Learning to recall and explore on my own dreams helps me expand different kinds of vision and multi-sensory skills.  To empower other people to recall and work with dreams continues to be mutually-beneficial.  People come to realize dreams are windows into soul, into experiences on the horizon, with a key purpose to awaken and strengthen connections to higher awareness.  Readers evolve to recognize new meaning in events in waking life.

3.      How has astral dreaming influenced your spiritual direction? Do you have any specific tips as to how to enhance one’s ability to enable themselves to astral travel?

Funny, you ask this. I am in the midst of writing an ebook about dreams, astral, lucid dreaming and Out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and Near death experiences (NDEs).  This draws from my experience as a newspaper columnist of dream interpretations, my blog, interactions with clients in other capacities and my own experience. I encourage anyone interested in these subjects to read about them, to join forums and talk about their own experiences. The truth is, everything a person wants to know is already inside him.  It is a matter of learning to recognize spiritual identity.  Every person can discover sprit beings exist ready to help you remember what you temporarily forgot.

4.      How can group meditation assist others seeking to embrace their own spirituality?

Group meditation focuses energy.  Some people mediate to quiet or discipline mind, and improve concentration.  Some people meditate to consciously strengthen links to spiritual dimensions. Some people have a variety of spiritual motivations. In essence, like-minded individuals connect when willing to help each other explore spiritual energies abilities. Learning to discern them is a step toward exploring deeper connection to life-force energy.

Group energy also grows in development circles.  Some people join these groups out of curiosity about the afterlife.  Others do so out of a conscious desire to learn more about the mechanics of mediumship and how to act as a channel between spirit and physical worlds.  When a person has genuine desire to serve, to open other people’s hearts to love, understanding and forgiveness, this enables him to guide others to conscious understanding about love and fear.   Helping others is a way to simultaneously help the self expand consciousness.

5.      Could you explain your spiritual connections to the other side?

I explore some of these in the book.  Certain deceased relatives have communicated with me in ways I understand based on experience we shared during their physical existence.  Spiritual development circles also enable me to learn to attune to energy differently. I learn to aspire to the higher characteristics of my soul nature, and to open myself as a channel to receive certain kinds of energy. This teaches how the truth is felt and does not always translate. During travel experiences in over fifty countries, spiritual energy has also drawn me to specific places.

6.      Do you have any personal experiences you’d like to share concerning guidance or assistance from the other side?

I explore some of these in the book as well. For example, two accidents were turning points in my life where I grew to connect shifts in awareness and survival to incidents of divine intervention.

On different occasions I also feel a pull to certain geographical places.  The nuances of spirit energy reach out as they have something to convey. I listen. I have been drawn to what turn out to be funeral processions on St Michaela, a cemetery island off Venice, Italy, and also a cremation in remote Thailand.  Spirit wanted to be heard.

In another case, while providing unrelated service to a city client, I spontaneously began conversing about the possibility of hidden burial grounds. The surprised client volunteered how the new building in which we were had been constructed on a burial ground and some strange occurrences had spooked people out.  She wondered how I knew. I helped the woman validate the relevance of spirit guides and accept blessings in unexpected events.   

7. Do you have memories of your past lives? Could you describe some of them?

During one of my past lives, my civilisation restricted freedom of information sharing among all people.  Social rules, hierarchies and customs prevented me from openly interacting with others unless they were from certain groups.  I resisted this, and found ways around the system, yet was unable to complete what I started.  

In another past life, I was a native shaman who encountered opposition because this was not my heritage role.  Nonetheless, I learned to permit thought and spirit energy to flow through me and continued on this chosen path against the odds.  This resulted in external conflict.    

8.      Much of society is still trapped in the illusion of third dimension. Do you find it difficult to be amongst those who have not awakened as of yet?

To awaken to the nature of self-created illusion helps people realize being “stuck” is a choice. To realize many layers of illusion and awareness exist suggests learning is perpetual.  Rather than focus on what is not, I choose to honour the highest things and be happy now.  As you sense blessings everywhere, difficulty dissipates.

9. What advice do you have for those in the beginning or midst of their own spiritual awakenings?

Patience is a virtue.  The power and impact of intention are never to be underestimated. You always know more than you consciously realize and only open the curtains to let in the light when you are ready to accept the truth.

10. Do you feel that the profound interest and growth of New Age spirituality is preparing us for a specific destiny? What direction do you feel spirituality is moving towards in the near and distant future?

Individual destiny is often viewed as separate from collective evolution.  Some people view destiny as a series of experiences each soul chooses or, events controlled by external forces. Other people sense thought and feeling are connected to the collective experience perceived as existence.  As you sense thoughts and feelings are energy, you consciously shape destiny every moment, how you think and feel, and where every behaviour is leading.

Each person has the freedom to shift awareness or not at any stage of existence. Many people hear talk about 2012 as a prospective turning point in human existence.  When fear controls the mind, people focus on the prospect of Armageddon or the end of the world as it seems. In truth, reality is not what it seems and change is perpetual. One chooses to resist and fear or, to surrender and love whatever unfolds. Whether you choose to experience ascension, rebirth, dimensional shifts, or something else, relates to level of conscious awareness and what you intuit to be possible.  As a person moves to sense timelessness, then everything happens now. Future is an illusion.
